Thornbury Hockey Club are proud advocates for the protection and safety of all young people involved in hockey. The club has adopted and works towards all England Hockey (EH) safeguarding policies and procedures. Our key policies on safeguarding are available below. All of our coaches, captains and club officers in both the senior and junior sections are made aware of their responsibilities for the welfare of U18s.
In the case of urgent concerns where the risk of harm/danger to the young person could be significant or immediate then you should contact the emergency services on 999.
There is also the NSPCC’s free 24 hour helpline on 0808 800 5000.
In the case of less immediate concerns the first point of contact is the Club Committee.
